Polish Green Fund, a closed-end investment fund managed by ARP TFI, has made its first investment, acquiring a 50% stake in two photovoltaic farms owned by Warsaw-based WMC PV. The project includes an already operational complex of farms in Prusinów (Wielkopolska) with a capacity of 15 MW, which is to be expanded by another 15 MW, to a total capacity of 30 MW. The investment will also involve the construction of energy storage facilities.
The project will be financed with new equity injection into the project companies by both co-owners, and debt financing from the market. The total value of the investment exceeds PLN 100 million, and PZF’s participation amounts to PLN 17 million.
– Polish Green Fund is our contribution to building a modern, sustainable economy. Thanks to the fund’s investments, we are not only accelerating Poland’s energy transition and strengthening the potential of domestic companies, but also creating a solid foundation for a stable market for green infrastructure investments – emphasizes Piotr Broda, ARP TFI’s Member of the Management Board for Risk.
The expansion of photovoltaic farms will enable the production of enough energy to power approximately 15,000 households or charge 20,000 electric cars per year. The connection of new capacity to the grid is planned for the second quarter of 2026.
– The first investment in the portfolio is a step that sets the direction for the fund. The selected project is proof that we see potential not only in large-scale investments, but also in SME sector projects. The instruments we create allow us to implement green projects on the one hand, but on the other hand, they contribute to the development of the infrastructure investment market – adds Tomasz Tomasiak, Director of the Investment Office and Manager of PGF.
PGF supports the transformation of the Polish economy by engaging in projects that contribute to the decarbonization of the energy sector, industry, and local infrastructure. The fund focuses, among other things, on renewable energy sources—wind farms, photovoltaic farms, biogas farms, energy storage facilities—and the instruments it creates are also aimed at developing the infrastructure investment market in Poland.
– WMC PV is implementing a strategy of hybridization of its portfolio of photovoltaic farms. Together with PGF, we will carry out one of the first investments planned for 2026 within the WMC group. Increasing the installed capacity of existing installations and adding energy storage facilities significantly improves the profitability of existing assets. We are glad that, with the participation of PGF, we will be implementing this innovative project, which is in line with our strategy – says Michał Witych, Member of the Management Board of WMC PV.
The first investment of the Polish Green Fund marks the beginning of a process of consistent development of a portfolio of projects supporting Poland’s energy transition. It is the start of a long-term strategy under which PGF will combine public and private capital to support the development of modern renewable energy installations and strengthen energy security and the resilience of the national economy.
